Sample Itinerary
WASHINGTON D.C. -
THE HEART OF OUR GOVERNMENT

Day 1

Depart your school in the morning with en route stop at Gettysburg to visit the battlefield

Afternoon: visit to Arlington National Cemetery, the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Challenger Memorial, and the Kennedy gravesites

Dinner in Washington

Evening: visit to the Iwo Jima Marine Memorial before continuing
On to your hotel

Day 2

Morning and Afternoon: full day guided touring in Washington, including the Capitol, the White House, the Archives, the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, Peterson House, and the World War II Memorial

Dinner

Evening: illuminations tour visiting the Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean, Jefferson, and Washington monuments

Day 3

Morning: Visit to Mt Vernon and Old Town Alexandria

Afternoon: Visit to the Holocaust Museum (Daniel's Story) back in Washington DC plus a visit to the FDR Memorial and MLK Memorial

Evening: Dinner cruise aboard the Spirit of Washington

Day 4

Morning: Visits to your choice of the Smithsonian Institution: the Air and Space Museum, the Natural History Museum, the National Art Gallery, and the National Museum of American History (re-opening in fall, 2008)

Afternoon: say farewell to Washington DC and head home!
